Periods can be a bummer and we aren’t going to sugar coat it  — we’ll leave that for our treats. We understand that although there are some months where we truly feel like a rockstar for our ever-flowing gift, there are also months where we feel exceptionally rotten. Emotional. Exhausted.

At Moon Cycle Bakery, we’re not about denying this or pushing past it. We aren’t here to pretend that being a woman is “roses + puppies” all the time or that some #monthlymoments aren’t harder than others.

What we’re here to do is find a way to celebrate even the shittiest of periods. Of moments. Of happenings. To dance in the mother-effing rain while the thunder explodes overhead and our hands reach further towards the ether.

But in order to do this, we need an epic soundtrack.

Enter: our period playlist. Play it loud, play it soft. Put it on and dance your butt off. Use it to your own device and then fall down on your bed and sleep the most peaceful of slumbers because dancing will do that.

I’m Still Standing – Elton John
No period getting me down.

Naps – Joey Pecoraro
Because lots of them.

Pink Moon – Nick Drake
For those light days.

Give Love – Andy Grammar, LunchMoney
Give some, and get some.

Shout Pts.1 and 2 – The Isley Brothers
Whether good or bad shouts, just do it.

Hello, You Beautiful Thing – Jason Mraz
Yeah, you. You’re beautiful.

Groove Me – King Floyd
For the times in our cycle when our libido is hiiiiigh.

Good as Hell – Lizzo
Have you seen me lately?

Bad Moon Rising – Creedence Clearwater Revival
For those not-so-easy periods.

R-E-S-P-E-CT – Aretha Franklin
Damn straight. Time to respect ourselves, our bodies and each other.
